My dad practicing the guitar, wearing SAS shoes, as always.
Mrs. Spike, 89, my grandma Jo's best friend and my pen pal of a little over one year, sitting for a portrait in her home. Her husband Spike Ambrozich passed away 12 years ago, she said a week after he died she started volunteering to take other widows out to lunch. After doing that for ten years she had to stop because she needed a walker and it started getting hard to get around. She still is the organizer of the Croatian Culture Club's weekly Euchre group and helps count money at the St. Joes Church rectory. I hung out with her for less than an hour and her phone (land line, obviously) rang four times.

Travis helping Zach with his gloves before his first sledding experience.
My dad was so excited to take all of the kids sledding. Growing up he was always great at finding fun things for the kids to do during vacations and family visits. It made me really happy that he still loved doing that.
This ended in a tumble, but I think he enjoyed it.
